Nothing else on that I can see, and I don't particularly like Nigel Slater.... but so far the show seems very watchable.

"the only thing (it seemed) that she could do better than NS's mother was cook, then NS tried to barge her out with that. by that point he was a teenager, and while you might be able to forgive a young boy's behaviour, when he carries it through to young adulthood it becomes unforgivable imo."

That´s a good point.

Overall, no one came off very well or seemed likeable from the three of them imo.

you're right diddl. it seemed like a very sad situation

"Yes, I think you're right about him being Daniel in Lark Rise to Candleford."

Yes the guy he snogged at the end was definitely Daniel from Larkrise. Also, the guy who played the gardener at the beginning also played Fisher Bloom in Larkrise too.

AllOverIt · 03/01/2011 14:28

There seemed to be a few Lark Rise cast in there. The mother's from Lark Rise too...

Piece in DM about this, from the point of view of "Mrs Potter's" daughters, who are fuming about the way their mother was portrayed.

Sorry forgot to do the link

Even if Mrs Potter was a gold digger & no substitute for his real mother, I thought the way he treated her made him look bad.

I wonder if the author is aware of this? And has he grown up enough to "forgive and forget"?
