Thought it was O.K.
Just.
Very wierd.

Thought all the tv last night was rubbish. One Ronnie, Dr Who, Strictly, Fly with Me.
All VERY VERY disappointing.

begonyabampot · 26/12/2010 10:43

TV was crap last night apart from Dr Who and Miranda was a bit funny. What happened to showing great movies and such. I want Indiana Jones or Star Wars or something at least!

cornyPrawnsdefrostJasonDonovan · 26/12/2010 12:18

I enjoyed it though it was a bit weird. Yes Amy isn't at all clear and has one expression. I hope that they get rid of her now and get in another character - she is very dull.

dalek · 26/12/2010 19:42

I agree -getting a bit tired of Amy now - bring back Donna - bet she would be great with New Doctor who is a bit asexual and she is "whatever"

cornyPrawnsdefrostJasonDonovan · 26/12/2010 19:46

Yes Donna was brilliant.

Pixel · 26/12/2010 22:17

I enjoyed it. The fact that Amy wasn't in it much was a bonus, also we didn't get a stupid Russell T Davis ending to spoil it. (flying bus/Cyberking or suchlike).

Didn't like it. Working too hard to be A Christmas Carol, and shoe- horning in CJ singing to the plot. Like Dr Who, but not that one. Preferred the Royale Family.

OhYouSnowySnowyKitten · 26/12/2010 22:47

it was a bit rubbish. loved the fish, but you cannot possibly (under conventional sci-fi rules) have a person cross their own timeline like old blokey and young blokey did. In past dr who they would have gone ka-boom.

Pixel · 26/12/2010 23:26

Well dd did point out that when Rose met her younger self in Father's Day (Don't touch the baby!) it caused all sorts of trouble, yet the young and old versions of Kazran could chat away, hug etc with no probs.

cornsilkcornedbeefhash · 27/12/2010 11:11

but Amy met young Amy....

OhYouSnowySnowyKitten · 27/12/2010 11:34

they just keep on breaking the sci-fi laws.

cornsilkcornedbeefhash · 27/12/2010 11:35

would've been good if Amy had imploded

Lovecat · 27/12/2010 11:56

Call me a sad old accountant, but I would have thought taking a girl with less than a fortnight to live as security on a loan was very bad lending practice...

The FSA would have something to say about it. Actually the whole premise of taking a rellie as security was rubbish - even with access to the fog lake beneath the house it would have cost him to store and service them. Especially as he seemed to be lending to the sub-prime market, from the look of KJ's family...

I'll get me coat...:o

Northernlebkuchen · 27/12/2010 12:05

I thought it was very very poor. Katherine Jenkins was dire - and all the singing - how tedious was that? Far too much CGI, the plot itself made bugger all sense and the whole thing was dire.

SleepingLion · 27/12/2010 12:12

We watched it last night - well, DH watched it while I MNetted on the sofa muttering about the good old days with David Tennant. Thought it was a complete pile of shite. Its only saving grace was that Amy Pond wasn't in it - but the fact that a) they had to put her back in that police outfit and b) they had to have Katherine Jenkins sing shows how desperate they are to grab attention by things other than decent writing and plotting.

Northernlebkuchen · 27/12/2010 12:25

Yes the police costume/soldier thing was a totally ick moment. Absolutely for adults only - and not funny for them. The ending was a complete cop out too I thought

I gave up as soon as KJ started singing In the Bleak Midwinter to a fish.

And this from one who would never have missed a Christmas Special in years gone by...

5Foot5 · 27/12/2010 19:56

I loved it! I thought it was very cleverly told and Stephen Moffat is a much, much better writer than Russell Davies. While I thought David Tennant was a brilliant doctor I am really liking Matt Smith.

Flame · 27/12/2010 20:02

Well I enjoyed it.

I love Matt :o

constantlytired · 27/12/2010 23:23

I just can't watch it anymore, i miss David Sad

Bomper · 28/12/2010 09:52

Really loved David Tennant and thought I wouldn't like Matt Smith but he is fantastic and a brill Doctor - plus I don't have the distraction of drooling over him and can concentrate on what is being said!! Grin
