They seem to be cloning Lexie lookalikes up in Glenbogle. Feisty shepherdess Iona has a slight Lexie air about her, as does this week's newcomer Amy McDougal (Kellyanne Farquhar). She's Paul's teenage godchild who bowls up to the Highlands after running away from boarding school. While the real Lexie doesn't appear in tonight's episode, there's another face from the past: Kilwillie (Julian Fellowes). He's back from America with a pushy PA who Molly suspects may be a gold digger. Meanwhile, young laird Paul (Lloyd Owen) has his hands full coping with both the exploits of his godchild and Tam the poacher. But he can still manage the odd soppy gaze at Iona. We sense love is in the air.

What are they putting in the water in Glenbogle? This usually whimsical drama is becoming surreal. Tonight, for instance, the laird is entertaining a millionaire he hopes will become a partner in his latest venture - Hotel Glenbogle. Nothing odd about that, except that the potential investor, an ex-cosmonaut, has such a theatrical Russian accent he sounds like a Bond villain. Dafter than that, he has a pet panther that meekly hops out of the four-wheel drive when they arrive, yet scares everyone when it escapes from its cage. By the time Tom Baker shows his skill at Swahili panther whispering, you'll be reaching for a Scotch.
