For all you 'X' Fans hanging out in 'tele addicts'...we've managed to secure a special mumsnet messenger, who's agreed to pass on your questions to Rebecca F during Friday's rehearsals for this weekend's Semi Final. Post your q's to Rebecca on this thread by lunchtime tomorrow and we'll be selecting our favourite TEN questions which will be put to Rebecca on Friday. We'll post her answers up on Friday evening. Think she's just become MNHQ favourite Wink

Hi Rebeccca,

Been loving all your performances on the x factor and you have a real shot at winning .

Dont know how you feel bout it but was thinking you need to have some moving and dancing in your performances to give you the edge over matt and one direction (who i think you will be in the final with)

NonnoMum · 01/12/2010 20:48

Hi Rebecca,

When you achieve World Domination and appear on Oprah, how do you think the Yanks will cope with your accent??

PS When you win, don't be all grateful and boring a al Lovely Leona, ("it's amaziiinnnggg) be a bit feisty, make a few mistakes, tell a few jokes... there's nothing more boring than a perfect starlet. (But don't go all Amy Winehouse on us, that's taking it too far...)

Dear Rebecca

After the X Factor is all done and dusted, would you like to become involved in promoting Liverpool to any extent? How will you cope with London-centred film industry - will you feel homesick?

ps You are a brilliant ambassador for young women - beautifully groomed. dignified and graceful. May your success continue....

Punkatheart · 01/12/2010 21:12

...oops I meant music industry, not film....

ilovesprouts · 01/12/2010 21:13

hi i really hope you win go girl....

solo · 01/12/2010 22:46

I just want to wish you good luck as I think you are incredibly talented Grin

UnquietDad · 01/12/2010 22:51

Rebecca - Do you not get a bit fed up with the Sade/Aretha type songs every week and beg Cheryl to let you do a bit of "Firestarter" or something?

How much influence does your mentor actually have over things? Do you sit down and have detailed negotiations every week? Does Cheryl stand there with a Big Pen writing song titles up on a Big Whiteboard, crossing them off one by one, before 'brainstorming' the winners with you in a breakfast meeting over juice and muffins? Or does it amount to coming into a rehearsal and saying "Yuz soondin' reet good thus week, pet, keep it oop like" before buggering off to LA with Dancy Derek again?

Do you sometimes want to slap Cher?

I possibly think too much about this.

solo · 01/12/2010 23:25

Lol @ UD Grin great CC accent!!!

WilfShelf · 01/12/2010 23:25

Oooh. In a fight between you and Duffy, who would win?

And do you get to keep the clothes? I loved that silver and orange dress.

scotgirl · 01/12/2010 23:40

Rebecca,
I love your look (and your singing but that goes without saying!)
It is obvious that you have your own unique style. Where do you get your inspiration from?

4andnotout · 02/12/2010 06:23

I would just like to wish you loads of luck, you are our family favourite, my girls think you look like a princess!

gottasmile · 02/12/2010 09:16

Rebecca,

My 2.5 year old knows you and loves you! (And always comments that you don't have black lips - she remembers your black lipstick!!)

Sometimes I think you sound like Norah Jones, I'd love to hear you singing one of her songs. I love what you do with your voice.

Do you have a musical family? How did you get into singing?

Good luck!!

RachelMumsnet · 02/12/2010 13:51

Thanks very much for all your questions - they've made us laugh this morning. We're currently choosing our favourite ten to send over to Rebecca and will post up her answers on Friday.

We3kingsoforientRaahh · 02/12/2010 20:04

How did I miss this? Grin

Love Rebecca, but i do wonder whether she feels a bit side-lined by katie and Cher, as her mentor has been more interested in them?
Mind you, us harpies over on the X-Factor thread believe this is because Rebecca is more talented than Cheryl, and needs less help than the others anyway!

Too late to ask a question, but hello! from me, Raahh in Xmas guise.Xmas Grin

RachelMumsnet · 04/12/2010 19:37

We're so sorry we haven't posted Rebecca's answers up. We're still waiting to hear back from the PR who took your questions over. We'll contact them first thing Monday and will keep you posted.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 08/12/2010 17:59

Did you ask about the muff toupee? And if she was worried about Cher 'avin her backstage? Or about slapping Cher?

You did, didn't you Xmas Grin?

UnquietDad · 08/12/2010 23:30

Sue - I asked the latter :)

RachelMumsnet · 10/12/2010 14:27

Here's Rebecca's answers - not 10 as promised, I think she's a bit busy with duet preps, but she has done five. UnquietDad, I assure you your muff q was one of the ones we sent over as was the Cher slapping Q but sadly they were declined by the PR.Still big thanks to Rebecca for taking time out of her schedule to answer these - and good luck to her for Saturday, I'm rooting for her!

Q From SuePurblybiltByElves - OK, Rebecca, as a fellow Lone Parent, did you think about the impact winning or getting as far as you have will have on your children? Do you think it will benefit them? Not having a go, I'm interested in the balance between material gain and the exposure to fame or seeing less of you. Thanks and good luck.

A RebeccaFerguson - I think it will have two impacts. Hopefully if it goes well and I have a career, it will provide for their future. There have been times in the past when I've had to say to them, 'Mummy can't afford to buy you that'. But I think there will also be sacrifices. I won't be able to be with them 24/7 like before, but in the long run if I work hard, I will make a better life for them. My aim is to make sure all my family are looked after, I'm a family girl at heart.

Q From Readinginsteadnow - Why can?t the contestants in the xfactor house have a bedroom each? Its not like big brother; surely a bit of privacy would be good? Whats the logic with it? Does it bother you?

A RebeccaFerguson The house isn't actually as big as it seems. It felt quite crowded at the start when there was so many of us, but now we've got lots of space. It feels quite strange when there are so few of us there now.

Q From Italianlady - Don't you think it is time you did some dancing?

A RebeccaFerguson I know a lot of people have been saying that! I try and keep my performances as entertaining as possible, but my main priority is to have a good vocal performance. I think I have incorporated a bit more dancing recently compared to the start.

Q From Custardo - what is your fave band or singer? And which of the contestants do you get on with best? ( you can't say "ooh i love all of them")

A RebeccaFerguson I'm a really big fan of Aretha Franklin and Whitney Houston, they've both got such impressive voices. I also really like Kings Of Leon, it would be amazing to be able to work with them in the future. Mary and I got on really well and I was sad to see her go. I also hang out with the OD boys alot, they are so funny!

Q from Unquiet dad - Rebecca - Do you not get a bit fed up with the Sade/Aretha type songs every week and beg Cheryl to let you do a bit of "Firestarter" or something?

A RebeccaFerguson I'm actually really pleased with the songs I've got to perform. I work very closely with Cheryl deciding what to perform. People like Aretha Franklin are my idols so I see it as a privilege to cover their songs. Saying that, I do also like doing the more fun songs like 'Show Me Love'. I'm also really excited about performing with Christina Aguilera - that will something different!!!

UnquietDad · 10/12/2010 14:41

Muff was not me! Slapping was.

RachelMumsnet · 10/12/2010 16:17

ooh, I am sorry for tainting you with that (I thought it was quite funny)

OP posts:
UnquietDad · 10/12/2010 23:40

That's OK! I'm just pleased she answered mine... The answers are all very polished and media-trained though, aren't they? I think a few of us were hoping for a bit more, you know... dirt.

SuePurblybiltByElves · 11/12/2010 21:06

Oooo, I like being namechecked. But why oh why no Mingehead or Churr questions? I feel you bottled it MNHQ Xmas Wink

TheMousefaceBeforeChristMouse · 11/12/2010 21:39
