Gulp at Simon's face. Botox wearing off? He looks like the Churchill dog.

cheekyweebesom · 31/10/2010 20:57

as long as there's a Primark on the High Street Simon, it's not the end for them ....

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 31/10/2010 20:58

Finally got around to reading about JK and his "rant" against the female judges.

What a complete dick. Needed some extra publicity for his new album, did he?

Raahh · 31/10/2010 20:58

cheeky Grin. There'll always be a Primark.

choux · 31/10/2010 20:59

Kylie on next week - showing little sis how it's really done. Botox I mean!

Fatimalovesbread · 31/10/2010 20:59

thought there was going to be a big surprise/twist tonight? obviously not

Raahh · 31/10/2010 20:59

Simon is really only interested in Wand Direction. Just as LOuis said.

Tis a fix. And I love it Blush

Raahh · 31/10/2010 21:00

Simon would never have allowed it to go to deadlock if Katie was on the lowest votes. But Katie is on borrowed time now. Once you've been in the bottom 2 more than once it's clear the public are never going to be won over.

EightiesChick · 31/10/2010 21:11

I've just seen that story! A better marriage of pointlessness and barminess couldn't be achieved.

UnquietDad · 31/10/2010 21:26

Buggeration!

Why does the predominantly female voting public of X-Factor always vote down the girlbands? So much for sisterhood!

allhallowsandwine · 31/10/2010 21:32

does any one think simon and cheryl are acting a little, well, urmm exclusive. its boring now poor danni, she has must be bored to tears with louis as her only frinend.

I'm a bit behind on watching the X factor (have to rely on youtube) but I am so glad Belle Amie have gone, they were beyond awful. I dislike Katie because she does come across as very fake and I don't like her voice.

Regarding yesterdays show, I think Aidens performance was good and he made it his own song rather than copying the origional.
He's rather cute too [hwink]

I used to like Paije's(sp) voice but now I find it slightly irritating, have no idea why.

gorehaginhellsbum · 01/11/2010 07:19

Is it just me who thinks Katie is not quirky/individual/original but completely and obviously contrivedConfused

Lovecat · 01/11/2010 08:00

I hate Katie for the same reason I hate Bjork - all that 'ooh, look at me, I'm so out-there and away with the fairies, I said LOOK AT ME, I'm all quirky and mad, me' - but at least Bjork can sing and doesn't do shit cover versions (oh, no, wait, what was that 'It's Oh So Quiet' thing... ?)

I hate her simper, I hate her fake 'kooky'ness, I HATE the crying at every given opportunity and how anyone can compare her to Gwen Stefani (except for also being deeply annoying with her knicker-flashing eyelash-batting 'coyness' - Stefani at least can sing!) is beyond me. More like bargain-bin Madonna c.1984

UnquietDad · 01/11/2010 10:01

And 50% of the women on here sound like my DD (10) with all the fawning over Matt and Aiden!!

noeyedear · 01/11/2010 10:24

Lovecat Exactly! Katie's only original if you are below the age of 12 (the very people SC plans on fleecing between now and Christmas, coincidentally)

Her voice is nice, IMO, but not great, and she's just such a wannabe! I hope this is her big thing, and she fals flat on her face and sticks to the hairdressing, so I don't have to see her!

Docbunches · 01/11/2010 10:51

Agree Lovecat, I was praying Katie would go yesterday, even though Belle Amie deserved it more.

I'm sick of Simon and Cheryl telling us how great she is, clearly the public aren't having any of it. I have a sinking feeling she will escape the bottom two next week - I'd like to see her go first (or near the beginning) in the running order for a change.

DamselInDisgrace · 01/11/2010 11:13

I was really hoping for Katie to go, but I think that Bellamy really did deserve to leave after that utterly dismal performance in the sing off. They looked like they hadn't rehearsed the song at all, and it was all very embarrassing. Katie's sing off wasn't great either, but there was no way she could conceivably have been worse than Bellamy.

DH and I thought it was very interesting how Katie's demeanour changed when it went to deadlock. Up until that point she had been fake crying and all the usual attention seeking crap. We really don't think she was expecting it to go to deadlock, and when it did she was genuinely shocked (and possibly angry). The fake tears stopped immediately, and we got some genuine emotion.

I really don't think she's that talented, or at all original. I really don't like the breathiness of her voice, and the quirkiness is contrived and extremely irritating. She doesn't come across as a 'strong, confident woman', she comes across as arrogant and entitled. It may well be that the public respond more negatively to arrogance and entitlement in women than they do in men, but it still isn't a desirable way to come across. I think the X Factor machinery can only really amplify these traits and I don't see how they're going to manage to present her in a more palatable way.
