Frustrating. Every time he veered towards what could have been an interesting line of questioning, it was pulled back into spin.

I was amused by the idea that she could not understand why things went wrong in a marriage to an overpaid, twattish, self-obsessed, over-paid dickhead. I mean, it was just always going to be perfect, wasn't it?... In her innocence (genuine?) she starts from the premise that he is a good person, and can't square it with that. So start from the premise that he is a knob, then it all becomes easy. He's a Premiership footballer, FGS.

I genuinely think there is a lot of interest in grilling this kind of celebrity and the right kind of interview could give a very interesting insight into the way aspects of the sleb world work today. It's just that this kind of interview never gets done. The PR people makes sure of that.

Let's make a list of questions we'd like to have asked her under the influence of a truth drug...

Maybe I am being really niave but I believed every word she said (except "I'm not a drinker") and feel that she has been through a lot. And the whole Gamu thing is unfair, I fully believe that she would have put her through had the producers not told her about her immigration status and is now "standing by her decision" to not create a bad feeling with the girls she is currently mentoring. She's not stupid, as Simon said. I think she is genuine.

Did you hear that she didnt really have malaria? I think she probably did, like I said earlier, but I do think her lifestyle probably didnt help her recovery. I doubt a doctor could go on national tv and say that he treated her for malaria if she didnt really have it.

all i know is that shes stolen my hair colour and now everyone is going to ask me 'did you do that colour because of cheryl?' NO I BLOODY DIDN'T! mines been like this for a month! but of course, no one will remember that I DID IT FIRST!

I think her marriage to Ashley was all a sham. She married him as cover for attacks of racism re: her assault case. He married her to stop the gay rumours. I've heard from many gay friends that he's been seen in gay clubs.

I've heard all that about the marriage and the malaria. But I don't see how anybody could act the whole thing that well under pressure. She would have to be a consummate actress. Maybe she is not really a designered-up, veneered working class girl from a Newcastle council estate at all, but a student actress hired at the age of 19 to play a lifetime's role of a "rags to riches" girl who makes her fortune in a girlband?...

Interesting the (lack of) contribution from other GA members. A lot of Kimba (of course, becoz she lurrves her), a bit of Ginge, a brief snatch of Boozy and, of course, nothing from Skinny whatsoever.

It's almost seen as an incidental period in her sleb evolution now. A tiny part of the greater story. Doubtful they will ever record together again, despite this "3-album deal". (Mind you, if the rumours are to be believed, they never really recorded "together" anyway...)
