X-Factor - Week 2!! Musical heroes.....

Raahh · 16/10/2010 18:21

After last weeks not very inspiring set list, this week the acts are meant to be singing

John Adeleye - A Song For You (Donny Hathaway)

Storm Lee- Born To Run (Bruce Springsteen)

Mary Byrne: Dusty Springfield?s ?You Don?t Have To Say You Love Me?

One Direction: Kelly Clarkson?s ?My Life Would Suck Without You?

Treyc Cohen: Purple Rain

Katie Waissel - I?d Rather Go Blind (Etta James)

Wagner- Help Yourself (Tom Jones)

Cher Lloyd ? Hard Knock Life (Jay Z)

Paije Richardson ? If I Ain?t Got You (Alicia Keys)

Belle Amie ? ?You Really Got Me?

This is an unconfirmed list. Theme wise, it is as tenuous as last week- is Kelly Clarkson really a musical hero to 5 teenage lads?

Looking forward to WagnerGrin

I bet Wand Erection practically came in their pants at Cheryl cougar-ing up to them. Well, the 3 out of 5 of them who are not gay did. I'm not saying I know or suspect any of them to be gay, to make it clear, just that, you know, probably...

Kimba-lehh on X-tra Factor! Yay! Ey-oop Kimba-lehh! Good to see the Back To Work programme in action...

Nice one Unquiet Dad - was waiting patiently for your accent bit - LOL

fuckityfuckityfuck · 16/10/2010 23:33

I agree on waiting 'til Sunday for results - needlessly drawing out the process. I'd happily skip Sunday and check results elsewhere.

Re clag nut: shamelessly stolen for Viz circa 90s' (if my memory serves me right, the ingenious device in top tips was a fur-lined bicycle wheel for removing those annoying clag nuts [mind boggles]!)

fuckityfuckityfuck · 16/10/2010 23:34

that should of course read from Viz

UnquietDad · 16/10/2010 23:39

I wonder how much longer Cher can go on covering cover versions.

fuckityfuckityfuck · 16/10/2010 23:43

for as long as she's got Cheryl as a mental mentor Unquietdad I reckon.

I bet no one's going to test her range beyond the hip hop / rap range (excuse me if not the right terminology, am not up with da yoof Grin)

Have to say I do like Katy though, think she has a good voice...

fuckityfuckityfuck · 16/10/2010 23:48

arrrrgh, that should be down with da yoof

fuckityfuckityfuck · 16/10/2010 23:52

brilliant!!

OK i have just caught up with last nights X Factor... here are my thoughts.

The show was a bit shite all in all tbh..

I still cant stand Cher, she can't rap, sing or even speak well! That permanent sneer on her face really irks me.

I would like Aiden to win, i really like him and his voice, his song wasn't as good as last week but it wasn't terrible, i hope it doesn't wreck his confidence.

Mat as ever was lovely and note perfect.

I don't like Katie but prefer her stripped back from her usually 'im so out there' style.

I like One Direction they are very pop boy bandish but i don't think that bad, plus that Liam is adorable (im only 23 so im allowed to say that!)

Bell Amie were better this week, still don't do it for me but i might have to hunt Simon down if he says girl power once more it makes me cringe.

Mary was outstanding again i hope she can also preform upbeat songs as well.

John - meh i like john he isn't memorable though is he? Ditto Paije.

Wagner is bonkers he will stay for the comedy vote... didn't like the gropey dancers.

TreyC - Meh she can sing but i don't think she will win, to muck like Alexandra Burke.

Storm is very Butlins, i don't think he will win.

I like Diva Fever they are not like Jedward because they can actually sing!

Rebbecca has a beautiful voice i hope she learn stage presence and confidence when interviewing.

Is that all?

I really think one of 4 things is going on with Simon this year, either a, he is getting a blow job under the table. b, he is on drugs. c, he is drunk or d, he is having a midlife crisis.

He loves everybody and keeps saying thinks like girl power and how 'fun and bonkers' everything is.....

I'm loving Danni this year, never been a Cheryl fan and Louis is adorable as for Dermot, i love Dermot he looks like a really nice bloke.

UnquietDad · 17/10/2010 10:51

I was wondering what on earth had happened to Belle Amie's eyes! Someone has been slappering them up between last week and now. It's as if Cheryl went in with the fake-tan-machine and the vat of mascara and said "Now, loooke gurlz, tek it from me, if yuz reeeally wanna win, yuz gotta put all this on, leyke, pets."

mrsden · 17/10/2010 10:56

Did anyone else think that Simon and Cheryl were acting very strange last night? Simon was practically draped over Cheryl for most of the show.

I liked Dannii last night, I think she was the only judge who was watching the same show as me. I got the impression that Simon and Cheryl really don't like her though, did anyone else think this?

UnquietDad · 17/10/2010 11:06

Titsalina... I will be picturing Sinitta hidden under the table every week now.

mrsden - he is often like that with Cheryl, but far more so yesterday than ever before. It's almost as if they have some sort of secret agreement... they know Cher is going to win and Wand Erection will be this years' JLS... so they both win...

noeyedear · 17/10/2010 11:07

It does seem like there are two camps of judges. I thought Simon was acting a bit oddly, both this week and the last! maybe it's the love of a good woman? He did make the same comment as I did though about Rebecca's lipstick. It seems they are listening to different acts some of the time! I think Cheryl sucks up to Simon, because he's keeping her in a job, Louis doesn't care what Simon thinks, and Danni is just a bit loopy!
