kittya fancy a trip to glasgow!?!?

SaintIncognita · 14/10/2010 09:00

It's not quite as slick as the L word, though. I appreciate the illusion that my town could be like that.

Tortington · 14/10/2010 09:03

i loved the L word

and although i will give this another couple of episodes to see if i can get into the characters, i think the acting is very laboured and the editing is shit.

Species8472 · 14/10/2010 10:48

Didn't watch it but the one who plays Frankie is a friend of my brother.

Aitch · 14/10/2010 10:49

glasgow IS crawling with cool lesbians.

however, Lip Service is utter shite imo. Grin

kittya · 14/10/2010 12:38

the acting is so crap.

Its trying to be like the L Word but not going near it.

Straight away you could see the Shane Alice and Kit characters.

Sounds like I missed out with the L word - never caught that one. Is it repeated anywhere? What channel was it originally on?

kittya · 15/10/2010 00:59

god, maybe Bravo? if you get it on dvd its edited. It was pretty raunchy! had a good storyline though. Better than our version.

SaintIncognita · 15/10/2010 08:43

If you search you can find it in bits on Youtube.

Anniek · 15/10/2010 10:48

Wow, think you're being a bit hard on it! I liked the character of Cat, thought the emotion and emotionless aspect in the morgue was brilliant, and glad to see in the preview that Cat is going to give the cop another chance.

Didn't dislike the acting either!

Have set Sky+ for it, liked the L word too but it is forever tainted for me because of the last season!

kittya · 15/10/2010 13:00

oh, do you know what I cant even remember the last season. Didnt they get rid of the most annoying one? I loved the storylines in the L Word. And their clothes and houses! I was just over there in the gay part of LA and I did wonder where on earth they had based the L Word!!

Im still laughing about all the fit lesbians in Glasgow.

Who killed Jenny... who cares it was dire!!

L word was filming in Canada until the last season then it was filmed in LA, I am full of useless information Grin

Never been to Glasgow Blush

SaintIncognita · 15/10/2010 14:40

Oh yes, the who killed Jenny thing was pretty lame. I went to a wedding in Glasgow once.

kittya · 15/10/2010 15:50

I went to a hen night.

They should have got rid of Jenny in series three.

OP posts:
dustycups · 15/10/2010 16:14

saint was there loads of hot lesbians at said wedding!!

SaintIncognita · 15/10/2010 17:25

Not a lesbian to be seen I'm afraid. Twas an entirely straight affair. Apart from my good self. Wasn't in the city long enough to witness it teeming with lush gay women. I feel quite deprived.

dustycups · 15/10/2010 18:03

Sad oh well i wont bother with glasgow then, just have to keep looking!

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/10/2010 14:16

finally watched

enjoyed tho not sure if i could come by a dead person

deathjeff · 18/10/2010 01:00

Glasgow lesbians are nothing like this. For one: they don't make a habit of shagging in morgues.

And if you cant find a lesbian in Glasgow I'm very surprised. They lurk everywhere Wink

I was hoping this series would be a reflection on Glasgow's gay lady population- but it's a load of trite that's already been done. Bleh.

kittya · 18/10/2010 14:46

Remember it was written by the same person who wrote Mistresses. Its a complete rip off of the LWord, anyone of us couldve wrote it.

SaintIncognita · 18/10/2010 14:53

Well, I still like it, so there. Nice to see grown up lesbians angst ridden about grown up sort of stuff, rather than your run of thr mill coming out story.

kittya · 18/10/2010 18:02

I cant think of any run of the mill coming out tv shows!! I didnt get the feeling that any of them are angst ridden for now.

The best lesbian dramas have been the good old period dramas for me. Give me Sarah Waters any day of the week!!

OP posts:
SaintIncognita · 18/10/2010 20:21

Frankie is simmering with repressed angst. :lust:

kittya · 20/10/2010 00:06

it was better this week.

BunnyLeBOOwski · 20/10/2010 08:34

What the frick is going on with Lou's accent?? Is she meant to be from Norn Iron?? I'm offended Shock

Anyway I'm liking it so far but am failing to give a shit about the moody blonde bint and the wee be-bobbed one who's always crying Hmm.
