It is 'our carlos'. had to google as it was driving me insane!

wow, he looks very different. i preferred the 'old' one. (i know it's the same man but he looked better.

Yeah the beard and stuff suits him more. He even looked better with the extra weight he had .

Is it just me or did anyone else feel slightly let down?

DH is my favourite ever programme. I love it so much. I have just watched all the DVDs again and it was much better in the beginning. I have been sooooo looking forward to this series (which is only 10 episodes long ) but it just didn't seem that good last night.

Susan is getting even worse. She has an art degree, surely she can make better jewellry than that? Also, she should be getting a half decent wage as a teacher (which was also completely unrealistic as one minute she was an over qualified classroom assistant, next she was the teacher ).

Love Bree, maybe she is going to do an interior design business. I thought she would have something up her sleeve though to get her business back from Sam. That seems a bit crap.

They have done the housewife has affair with decorator (Susan and Jackson), here we go again.

Love Lynette, but what is the baby called and they have changed Penny. Looking forward to knowing about Tom and Vanessa's past.

Also looking forward to the Carlos/Gaby/Juanita story unfolding. Does their other DD still exist? You rarely see her.

Also, Paul was thought to be a murderer. How was anyone else to believe he was framed with Felicia's fingers and blood in his house? Completely unrealistic for him to be that angry with everyone else.

Looking forward to seeing what Felicia has up her sleeve though, although it does feel like they have run out of stories so are rehashing characters and old stories from series ago.

Does anyone think that they are all looking a bit gaunt as well? Apart from Eva L obviously, the others are all far too thin and as they are older, being too thin is making them look much older too.

I really hope it's a decent ending for this storyline as it's gained the ability to go really wrong.

Carlos....I did a double take. Lokking good, but yes, did prefer him with a bit of beef on. That must have been hell for the continuity folk.
Do you reckon Gabby woke up one morning and discovered her dh was shockingly different?

yes I was a bit disappointed last night aswell. i kept going 'hang on' when new storylines were appearing. liek when paul was being released and talking to his lawyer.he said he was going back to wisteria lane and teh lawyer said "but none of yoru neighbours visited you? why do you want to go back there?" but really, who the hell visits a neighbour if they go to prison? let alone a murdering one? i think it's a stupid storyline. you wouldn't ever expect neighbours to visit you, teh hatred he feels (and i assume he as a plan for them all aswell) is just not credible.

threelittleducks i think tehy called her polly. i remember last series there was an episode where tehy wrote polly on penny's cake by accident because they had been thinking of it as a baby name. not sure if they used it though in the end.

Crazyplatelady totally agree about Susan how did she manage to keep the house before she met Mike, she was a bloody illustrator

Yeah and Gabbys other daughter, she dosen't seem to get a look in at all

And why is Paul so angry because his neighbours believed he was a murderer, em yea he is, just because he went down for murdering the wrong sister

Completely agree re the Paul Young storyline - it is a good idea, but it just seems like they've got it all a bit wrong. You'll probably find that there was originally 12 episodes or something and they've had to edit it down and lose a load of info.

Also, Carlos just seems to be really angry about the swapped baby thing - would he not actually be devastated and crying and silent. It was as if he had just been told that his car had been stolen or something.

Yep Pumpkin, he was Mike's son, but no idea what happened to him.

Sometimes I think I should go back and watch the old ones but I just don't have the time!

Agree with CrazyPlateLady - it feels like they are running out of stories so rehashing storylines and characters from several series back. I found it very hard to remember what happened with Mary Alice's family, it seems so long ago.

And WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO CARLOS? I also wondered if it was the same actor for a while. Obviously the actor feels that his weight loss and lack of beard will get him more parts elsewhere in the future, but his very slight tubbiness and beard actually suited him - he was like a big teddybear. And now he is spoiled!

Yes I agree the Susan thing doesn't add up. No mention of her job as a teacher - did she give that up or something? And how did she pay for her lovely house when she was a single parent? Unless Karl gave it to her outright as a divorce settlement, well he was a lawyer after all.

As a British person in an average British house, I was amused/annoyed that Lynette's friend (Vanessa thing, from Ugly Betty) thought Lynette's house was tiny. I think the Wisteria Lane houses are beautiful - surely they are not American average??

Sad to see Orson seems to be leaving too, love Kyle McLachlan since Twin Peaks days!

He looks so different and it makes his acting seem even more hammy, he needs the weight.

They will regret losing Orson, Kyle can actually act and his character is brilliant.

I'm not sure if those houses are average or not but we looked at houses in the US and we could get a much much bigger house than the one we have at the moment.

Yeah Carlos' reaction sounded so unrealistic. That thing about him shouting that they've been "raising someone else's kid" - who'd actually say that about a child they've had all their lives and have always thought of as theirs?

Not only is the Paul Young thing weird but also also Felicia (?) saying that he won't be alive for long because she has friends who are his neighbours. Yeah right, friends would do favours like murdering people for you!

Yes but I think what she means is that she is going to set something up so that someone gets so mad at him that they kill him, or that there is an accident or something.

That would certainly be more plausible. But she did emphasise that his neighbours are her friends so I thought that meant that they'd show some kind of loyalty to her cause.

So glad I've found the thread! I was arguing with dd2 all the way through last night's episode convinced that it was a new Carlos. Agree - he sounded so different as well.

Can someone explain why Orson is still leaving? I thought he was mad at Bree for not owning up about the car accident. Is there another reason? I get a bit confused

I'm also confused about the murdered woman. How did the sister know Paul did it and the police didn't? I wasn't watching it back then.

I'm really confused now - has the series started already? I thought 1st episode was this coming Wednesday on Channel 4. Someone few posts back said it will be repeated this Wed on E4 and someone else said the 2nd episode was Sunday. Arrggh I blimming well hope I haven't lost track of the weeks and missed it - HELP someone!!!!

The first episode was sunday- they seem to have swapped the days round- it used to be E4 on sunday and channel 4 on Wednesday.

It sounds like Orson used Bree as an excuse to leave, as he was also screwing his physiotherapist. Didn't Bree force him to stay after the acident anyway, out of guilt for her affair? That was an odd story! And what does she mean she has lost her business? Did she give it to the stepson in the end? I seem to have missed that bit.

Carlos and Gabrielles eldest daughter looks more like them than the younger one ( give or take a few lbs!)

I remember reading that Felicity Huffman was unhappy with the pregnancy storyline, as it was back to the same old Lynette, and they weren't moving the character on. I suppose if a main character is unhappy, it could be th end of the line.

They said ages ago that this series would be the last. Nothing has been said recently though so I don't know if they are still planning on finishing it now.

The last we saw of Zac Young was when he was loaded and tried to date Gaby. She told him where to go in the end and that was it. He visited Paul in prison as Paul wanted him to pay for a good lawyer but Zac wouldn't (Paul didn't seem interested in Zac at all, just the money).

Orson left Bree because she covered up Andrew's accident killing Juanita Solis when she made Orson own up to him running over Mike and sending to to prison as a result. He said he thought she had principles that he admired but that proved she didn't.

Sam (Rex's son) blackmailed Bree into signing over her business. Danielle told him what Andrew had done and Sam threatened to tell, so Bree signed it over, then told Gaby anyway. Complete waste of time her signing it over.

I liked Orson, he was good for Bree, although I thought Bree and Carl made a good team. Pity they killed him off.

Not completely sure how Felicia knew Paul killed Martha.

Carlos should have been more upset. I was thinking last night if someone told me DS wasn't mine and I was crying my eyes out at the mere thought of it.

They did discuss Polly as a name, but they never confirmed it once they had the baby. I'm guessing since it was on the cake, they are going to use it.

I also thought that about the 'small' house comment. I would kill for a house that size!!

It's so unrealistic for Lynette to have had another baby when her twins are 16+. She had them late on because she was so career focussed. There is no way she would be fertile enough to have an accidental pg 16+ years later.

I don't think she had them that late. She didn't really want kids but she married Tom and he pursuaded her to have 1 (which was all she said she wanted), then it was twins obviously and she ended up pregnant again and again.

Ok panic over, i have just caught up with desperate housewives. Forgot pin number for channel 4od so had to call virgin and get them to tell me but it was worth it as no adverts yey!

Reading a earlier post about Carlos, i made sure i looked at the opening credits and Ricardo who plays Carlos is still credited so it must be him. I agree though that he looks so different but not that his voice is different. If you close your eyes it sounds just like him
