Can anyone explain what's going on? What's the deal between Gavin and Peter? Why's Cassie suddenly snogging Gavin? Did Peter have something to do with Paula?

I love it, despite being a bit bewildered this week Grin

Deeply dysfunctional all round. Quire relaxing not having to be worried for any of the characters - they are not very sympathetic.

am enjoying.

kittya · 17/09/2010 00:07

Me too. I think he is Paulas son.

jodevizes · 17/09/2010 18:39

I have not been able to watch it but I have found the original on video at a charity shop. Yippee.

ramyr · 20/09/2010 20:28

Does anyone know when this will be shown in Scotland? I can get ITV London through Sky but miss being able to discuss it at work as no one else has watched it! We've got Taggart instead!

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 21:46

Can someone please explain why there was an ambulance at the scene when Pru was lying in the car dying, but not one person was there helping her?! The crew just seemed to be milling around whilst Daddy-o was sat with her.

WTF?!

Divatheshopaholic · 20/09/2010 21:50

Totally lost, i missed the first part today.

SleepingLion · 20/09/2010 21:51

What a bonkers family. As dweezle says, is relaxing not caring about how it turns out though since they are all so deeply unsympathetic. Apart from the little brother who seems to be the only remotely normal one in the whole programme. Although now screwed up for life and probably going to go on to commit deeply disturbed acts of his own.

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 21:58

Hmm.

Strange.

Remotew · 20/09/2010 22:00

Well I got that all wrong!

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 22:02

Yep, didn't think he'd do that.

Was enjoyable though. Filled a few monday nights!

follygirl · 20/09/2010 22:06

What happened to Paula then? I didn't really understand that bit. Was she kidnapped and murdered?

spikeycow · 20/09/2010 22:07

Oh my God the wife knew he'd jump!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 20/09/2010 22:07

i turned away at last moment!! did he jump???

Remotew · 20/09/2010 22:07

The only part I didn't get was Gavin saying about Peter at college and him and 'Paula' being heard down the corridor or did he not mention Paula and it was her mum that he abandoned. Shame he jumped though!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 20/09/2010 22:09

i thought it all lingered and then in th esapce of 5 mins gav tells us and nothing made sense

why did paula die? who and why was she kidnapped?

glad he jumped, he was a twat but so was the wife

YaddahYaddahYaddah · 20/09/2010 22:10

I think so follygirl. Well that's what i got from it

Also thought that about the paramedics LastOrdersAgain - exactly why did the let the day just stroll in and not help the person in the crash car? Maybe they all were admiring the random horse that was there.

Found it odd!! Would like to see the original now - or maybe read the book regardless to think it odd.

MinaHarker · 20/09/2010 22:12

That was the worst bit of television I've ever seen. Not one single character behaved, at any stage, in a fashion even vaguely reminiscent of a real human being. I was actually shouting 'jump' at the end. Plus, the sight of Trevor Eve crying has put me off my tea, like, forever.

Remotew · 20/09/2010 22:12

Paula went to Peter for help as their foster parents were abusing them both, her sexually. He turned her away and she refused to go back with Gavin, then she was murdered wandering around by herself reading a book.

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 22:15

The cry made me look away from the tv in embarrassment!

YaddahYaddahYaddah · 20/09/2010 22:16

*dad not day wander in

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 22:16

How did the wife know he'd jump? Did I miss something? Confused

said · 20/09/2010 22:18

What happened to Paula's mum though? I was looking for twists so much I started to wonder if architect floozy could be Paula

lotsofteddies · 20/09/2010 22:20

Wow. That was certainly the worst bits of television ever. Loved it though. Great! Very odd too, though. Will definitely get the book.

YaddahYaddahYaddah · 20/09/2010 22:20

I thought that too at one point said - till DH pointed out that Paula was dead. I also started thinging the flozy set it all up to get partnership Confused

LastOrdersAgain · 20/09/2010 22:24

Paulas mum gave her up for adoption so wasn't on the scene.
