I know. I couldn't sleep afterwards, it made me feel really unsettled. I said to dh it looked like folie a deux at the motorway scene at the beginning. It's really a fascinating syndrome.
Can't believe they weren't more rigourously assessed - I've never seen people look/sound more psychotic.
The brothers of the man that died were so full of dignity and empathy though, not full of vengeful wrath which would be understandable but just feeling very let down by the professionals involved and asking for answers which sadly they'll probably never get.
That said, it is really difficult to determine risk sometimes, people can spiral downhill so quickly. The trust I work for was recently featured on a bbc2 programme called 'why did you kill my dad?'. Needless to say we didn't come off too well. We all make wrong decisions sometimes but unfortunately in these cases those decisions result in tragedies.
