That couple don't live far from me, you could tell by their broad Yorkshire accent.

How do you think the audition stage works? Simon ,Sharon and louis cant see every one. My crude maths says that if they saw everyone for only 30 seconds and worked 12 hour days theyd need around 6 months to interview the 76000+ that applied. I watched the start of both X factor and Xtra factor and they didnt say anything to explain. Anyone know?

I wonder about this too. I assume there's a preliminary screening process of some sort?

You never see it though do you. DH and I think the obvious loons and some of the good ones must be picked for the celeb judges but the rest go through the "other" judges. I just thought someone on mighty MN may know.

what has baffled me is.... on xfactor on itv1 the other night, that young lad trevor and the skin-head one who was good looking both sang different songs to what was shown on itv2.
it didnt look as if the judges had said " right then sing another" both looked as if they had just walked in and sang a song but on each channel it was a different song.

We noticed that too, this means they listen to them for much more than the 30 secs I used in my calculation. There must be other judges.
