Which starts tonight and will be on for for nights.

Hope its as good as the one they did last year with Maxine Peake in it!

Parts of it were good especially Amelia but the ending was dismal. Typical BBC!

As the minutes ticked by to 10pm I realised there wasn't going to be any "real" conclusion.

Sometimes with a drama this works. However, with The Silence I felt the ending was poor and left too much hanging in the air. Even if Jim died I wanted the baddies nailed! A real shame after enjoying the first 3 episodes.

Glad I'm not the only one disappointed with the ending!

I think we're supposed to assume that Jim survived and Rocky blew the whistle on the others, but it would have been nice to have a few loose ends tied up .

Otherwise v good drama though. Liked Jim's kids too - some good acting all round.

Thought it had a few good twists and I liked the lead girl, but overall, quite poor.

Just way too long winded (could have been done in two nights, rather than four), shite ending and way too much of her maundering parents, his maundering wife and the annoying and pretty much irrelevant kids.

Waterloo Road was better

omw watched them all on iplayer today and thought it was over 5 nights cause ep4 ended up in the air i was like so came on here for a look what you lot put and was like all over again at it finishing like that

just watched the final part

RUBBISH ending! aaargh! i like all the loose ends to be tied up. boo!!!! loved the series tho'.

mizu · 18/07/2010 10:15

Yep, wanted to see the bad guys getting caught.

loobyt · 18/07/2010 13:53

I agree, rubbish ending. Real shame as I really enjoyed it other then that. It's as if they get to the end and just can't be bothered anymore!

roisin · 18/07/2010 21:11

I loved it. And I thought the ending was great actually. I don't like "neat, tidy endings, all the threads sewn up". They're either unrealistically quick and unbelievable, or take too long and drag on.

I like a bit of uncertainty personally!

do you know, in retrospect i have really come round to the ending! think it was actually very clever...
