Pill for 17 year old dd with spots

Just looking for a bit of advice, before a visit to the GP.

DD has always had spots, has just hit 17 and they seem to be getting no better. I've spoken to the GP who is seeing her next week, but said that there is a contraceptive pill which would help, although there might be weight gain.

Just wondering if there are any pills we should be aware of re. side effects, or any that have been particularly good.

Thanks.

Dianette was wiithout a doubt the best for my skin, was on it for years

But as Chewy has said on the other thread, Dianette is no longer recommended for long term use because of the much higher risk of blood clots.

I would much rather my DD were on an oral antibiotic (plus or minus a lower risk pill for contraception if needed) than diannette.

And yes, you can be on both OCP and antibiotic, but you can't rely on the OCP for contraception for the first 4 weeks because of the interaction between them.
