What advice would you give to a 17yo going to a festival?

This will be her first time, with a group of friends. They're going to the 2000 Trees festival.

What advice would you suggest? I've never been to one, so have no idea what she should expect.

She's quite an innocent, but mature 17 - no boyfriends so far (that we know about), doesn't normally drink alcohol and says she's never been offered drugs.

Yes it was, and was a nice warm up for Sonisphere, I think I'd have been overwhelmed by 60,000 people, but 10,000 wasn't too bad so should be fine!

Only bad thing was we weren't told there was a wheelchair platform and ignorant people kept standing right in front of my mate and nearly falling/treading on her

But I'm seriously excited for July now!

Would definitely recommend taking drinks/buying them in the arena though, we didn't and were desperate for one by the end. We couldn't leave our place though or we'd have lost it and we were really close to the front!

This site is brilliant for Festival / camping stuff www.4kits.co.uk. Last year for Leeds Festival, we bought 2 Festival Kits, a SheWee (for emergencies), some Waterless No Rinse Body Wash & Shampoo - which was ace & it meant you could virtually have a shower in your tent (no water required) - and a Ploo - this folding portable toilet thingy - which was a life-saver by Saturday as the toilets were just disgusting - and it's environmentally friendly.

The kits are full of loads of little bits & pieces like all your toiletries for the weekend, tissues, poncho, sun cream - there's loads I can't remember.

I'm going back for a top-up this year before Leeds Fest. I'll get myself a Spork this year - a sort-of all in 1 Knife Fork Spoon - as we're aiming to cut costs by cooking rather than live on burgers for 4 days, plus I'm getting on a bit & need to look after myself more, these festivals hurt for longer
