Unsuitable boyfriends

My dp's 19 year old daughter has started seeing a boy who has a reputation for being unpleasant, drives to fast and has a horrible family etc.

Is there anything to be done in this sort of situation or should we just grin, bear it and hope she moves on.

She knows we aren't happy with the situation but she will want to bring him round eventually - she lives with her mother - and will probably expect to have him stay over. Should we be firm or just be cool and let it happen?

Any advice would be good
Thanks

I'd let him stay by all means, be perfectly charming and let her make comparisons for herself.

Tbh there isn't a lot you can do; she is an adult and is perfectly entitled to choose between you and her boyfriend. And if you push it, she may well make the choice that most of us would if our parents refused to associate with our partners.

If this is a really unpleasant lad, then your best chance of getting her to see that is to behave as well as possible.
