First proper paper tomorrow - English Literature. My dd is a the moment fast asleep on the couch after reading Blood Brothers and Mice and Men all day.

Who else is suffering at the moment?

Good luck to all of us - parents and children

It really depends on the kids. The kids who most need all the help that you can give them are the ones that you least want in the class because they are the most disruptive.

For higher to mid ability classes revision lessons can be very helpful, since doing old papers can be the best ways of raising grades. Try that with bottom sets and life just gets plain awful!

Work experience can be great, especialy for those kids who are disafected with school. Seeing what real life has on offer can be a real help in getting them back on track and more motivated, say if they realise they need specific grades to get into a childcare course.

It also teaches some that, yes, you actuialy do have to work out there!

Our Council (Falkirk) has already stopped study leave for all 4th Year/Standard Grade pupils (don't know what year this equates to in England, I'm afraid) unless their parents write in asking that they have it. 5th/6th Year/Higher pupils are still allowed it.
