Anyone else watching them with their teens?

One of the schools featured (the Bucks one) is my son's school (tho' he didn't want to take part) so we were going to watch to spot his classmates etc but he was mortified to be watching it with me (we turned over to see 6ft posters of fangos and a discussion of boys preferring their girlfriends with Hollywoods etc) so in the end didn't actually see it. Perhaps if he'd watched it alone he wouldn't have been embarrassed.

What did you think of it?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 01/04/2009 12:05

I watched it with dh but we don't have teens
I think it's very good.
PMSL when they said at the end of each each episode that the website contains lots of explicit material so you should only look at it with your parents.... er, shouldn't that be 'on no account will you want to look at it with your parents'?

So sad the way they all thought those horrible fake breasts were the best ones, though.

yes, have watched the last 2 episodes with my 13yo dd, although she decamped to the other sitting room for a while to watch it on her own

BCNS · 01/04/2009 13:39

yeah watched it with DS1 (14).. he felt bad about girls being under such pressure as in his words " well you get what you get, make the most of it"

The only comment he made about last nights was that the only worry about his tackle was that it was too big and he might have to tuck the end in his sock to stop it getting grazed on the floor.. LOL the bravardo has started already I see

it's a good series and I hope it opens up some chat between teens and parents that find it difficult. we're happy and open here.. but it may raise things i've not thought about.

blimey... when's it on...

very good way into talking about things they would normally not dream of discussing, if you aren't put off by the presenter. Just make sure you are all facing the same way so they don't actually have to look at you

But it was also terrifying that books get their images of women through porn. The girls thought they have to try and look the way boys want them to look.

i like the presenter
my dd's watched some with me and some by themselves.

I did enjoy lasts nights episode she looked AWFUL when "dolled" up lol

QueenEagle · 02/04/2009 12:49

I haven't seen this but my 15 and 13 year old ds's are going on and on about penis hygiene - hilarious!!! Must try to watch it...

tatt · 02/04/2009 15:47

Last nights episode was interesting - but I wonder just how carefully they select the people shown to get the slant they want.

Not surprised by the hygiene concerns as they showed some graphic pictures of what it can look like when it isn't kept clean.
