Why is there always a problem with her?!!!!

Stepdaughter turned 15 last month.

We gave her permission to pierce her belly button just now and I thought that buy as atleast a month of breathing normally.

What would the moms of mumsnet.com do?
Situation:

An overwhelmed mom and stepmom of 4 kids (3 teenagers) gets a call from her DSC school.
It's the headmistress.
She says: Well hello Mrs.C ,it's about K.

Stepmom starts seeing black dots in front of her eyes.

Apparently her darling stepdaughter was caught in the schools storage room. Making out with her boyfriend. School uniform blouse undone.And his shirt too.

Since it's a private,strict school she got detention and now faces suspension.

Don't know what to do,what to saymhow to handle any of this!!!

No, he's out of state completely. But I'm telling him on the phone tonight.

personally at risk of being flamed, she's 15, and that's what 15 yr old girls do tbh.

I have a 14 yr old girl, and imo, I think we just need to make sure the lines of communication are always open, that they are aware of looking after themselves, ie safe sex etc, (yes i know she's only 15, but better to be safe than sorry)and that you will always be there for them.

For this, my dd would be grounded and privalages taken away, laptop, tv, weekend sleepovers for a couple of weeks.

I'm sure the school will give them both a stern talking to.

Speak to your dh too, and agree on how you will both deal with dsd in future.

i haven't read any of your previous posts (if there are any) so i don't really know what other problems you have had with your dsd, do you think its possible that she is just living up to your expectations of her?

your thread title implies that she is always the one causing problems, not the other kids, maybe she just feels that if you thinks she's trouble then she might as well be trouble, iyswim?

I think they are all making out to some extent at this age, but in the school storage is a little extreme. Is she looking for attention? Sounds like she could be - if they really want to get down to it there are plenty of other more private places where they aren't likely to get caught. Is there a teacher at school she gets on with particularly who could talk to her ?

Thank you, I agree! It's not the fact that she was kissing with her boyfriend but the fact that she was doing it in a school suply room!

Nope,no teachers she would talk to, I'm thinking maybe the principal will have her talk to the guidance counselor?I have no idea how the school deals with these kind of things and neither how me and DH are supposed to deal with them.

Our godson was suspended from school for a week for being found with a girl in his room (he was boarding)- he was 16. Not a lot of help I know - but know you are not alone.

Normal behavior. Doesn't men it's acceptable, certainly not desirable, but very normal. I was doing similar at 15, as were many, and I bet many do at her posh school - she had the misfortune to get caught.
