It can't be all doom and hormones. dd will be 13 soon. Cheer me up please?

She has started to call me "mother" in a funny detached way!
I don't mind and hardly noticed what I cam called, but my friends with younger children are .

probably just a phase! Call her something funny back, like "Daughter dearest" and see what happens

Aww that's sweet. I still call my mum "mummy" sometimes as a joke, and I'm 19.

Oh I did a nice/funny thing for her last night. I was off to a uni xmas do, and text her saying, "What time do you want me in?" she said "Up to you but remember I'm working tomorrow" so I text back saying I knew and that was why I text. So we agreed on about 11 and I stuck to it.

It's the faces DS1 (15) pulls more than what he does. He has this certain face that looks just like Tom the cat from Tom & Jerry, usually when we have asked him to do something and we get the usual "ohhhhhh for goodness saaaaaake" - we just have to do the face back at him and he dissolves into giggles, guaranteed to diffuse any stroppy moment!

I call my mum 'mother' to irritate her but then it became a habit. But you know us 'teens' do go through phases.

my ds(15) really has started to communicate with grunts.
