god its hard watching it happen. the lad was larvely, truly larvely. but dd felt that things were a bit boring and they only ever stayed in, they decided to go on a break ( it was for a week fgs pmsl) the next morning, she came into my bed and said "mummy it hurts so much" and i felt like crying with her

so the natural split came, and 10 mins ago she saw the ex bf has new firly sat with him on facebook page. she had watery eyes and is a bit devvo'd and is now playing 'pink...please dont leav me' PMSL she is going to ring him later - i told her to be sure of what she wants becuase if she wants him back theres a way to play the conversation - if she doesn't - why ring at all?
she doesn't know and doesn't want to talk about it.

oooh the drama , the drama! she said " well if its ok we see each other i might get a boyfriend"
"nah you dont want one," says i " GCSE's commin'"
"i am entitled to a rebound" says she

feckn rebound! oy schamoy

funny and sad - i told her that i was going to make an effort not to like the next one becuase its so unappealing if i actually like them

Oh I can so see myself in this position with my dd's in the next few years, and I am slowly realising that it is dd2 who is going to give me grief with boys not dd1 as I expected.

Playing the song made me laugh. I remember doing that and in the end my dad came up and said 'play that effin song again and the stereo gets it'.

ha ha, sally, serves him right!

Its horrible when they split up with bf, gf, I can't bear it. Not allowed to mention their name etc (even though dying to know what they are up to). I think i was more upset when my DD dumped her nice bf than he or she were!!

Love the 'entitlement to a rebound.'

Really chortling at Illegallybrunette. Can you remember what song you were playing?

XmasLollipopViolet · 07/12/2008 09:15

Awww I got broken up with by voicemail in June. I also wanted out so it didn't hurt too much, but the fact he got there first did. I was a fool, I had a 10 year age gap (he was 28, I was 18) so it was doomed to fail really. I did the song thing, only I did, "Fighter" by Christina, because life does get easier.

What REALLY hurt, was not having someone anymore. He was my first boyfriend and suddenly being single again was a shock. It hurt a bit when I went xmas card shopping and saw all the boyfriend ones, but it does get easier, honest.
