so i dye dd's hair ( 15) black - done it before in the summer and actually used the hose in the garden

but i am vindicated in taking the freezing cold hosepipe approach unfortunatley.

because i found black hairdye up the dining room table and all ound the leg.

had a shit fit, both twins deny it - so its either them or the BF

i am going to find out who it was

which will involve hours of toture

then what?

MUMSnet - i leave the punishment up to you! hav efun

and i bet it wont coeme out will it?

I got some old dye stains out of my mums carpet using a mousse carpet cleaner (left it on for 10 mins) Just be warned that it could take the colour out of the carpet.

Be grateful you're not the mum of one of my friends, when I was 15 we dyed his hair blue and it was everywhere! (and the kitchen was beige)

After the torture, I would decree a home perm, on little rollers, and the cutting of a sensible fringe.

Oh, that is torture.

I'm intrigued as to why persons unknown were dyeing their hair under your dining room table - they must verily fear your wrath

Tortington · 07/11/2008 08:23

it comes out ? wow

carpet is light colour arrrrgh

i did the hair dye,

how the frickin fuck it ended up one leg of the table and in a puddle around the bottom with indented finger marks ( obv. scooping back up in mad panic) i dont know!!!

i like the perm idea

I remember covering my friend's bathroom in henna when we were 15. You'd think it was natural but it stained and there were splats everywhere including the ceiling that looked like cow pats.

Black will be tricky. I should think there is a way, mild peroxide solution, a proper stain remover, nail varnish remover or even vinegar. I've heard of those being used but I'm not sure anything will take it without bleaching it a bit.

Tortington · 07/11/2008 08:42

yeah prolly bleach your right.

guadaloupe - you didnt sugest a punishment

feel free!

Um, keep a bit of peroxide spare and do little stripes along their eyebrows? This would require them to be good sleepers.

Tortington · 07/11/2008 10:47

that is EVIL! she is a good sleeper but i have no peroxide left, and if i messed her up cosmetically, she would leave home and get pregnant with twins by a drug dealer named Morris

I don't know what's more disturbing, the drug-dealing, or the name!

I highlighted my DD's friends hair. She had bleach on my sofa, the arm of one chair and all down the side. I hid it with ink, it was navy luckily. I could not claim off the insurance as we had just been burgled and had claimed for that.

LynetteScavo · 07/11/2008 22:05

custardo - how on earth do you expect your DD to end up as a lawyer when you encourage rebelious behaviour such as dying her hair black?

LynetteScavo · 07/11/2008 22:07

When I ruined an entire wall, the bathroom floor and a shower courtain in one dyeing session, I realised it was easier and cheeper to have it done profesionaly.

NotanOtterOHappyDay · 07/11/2008 22:08

just not worth the torture

all girls teens are bloody liars

Tortington · 08/11/2008 17:20

well the boyfriend owned up. dd tried cleaning it up a bit, she also made dh & my tea when we walked in from work

her hair is dark anyway, so theblack isn't a great difference.

i haven't given out any punishments becuase...well ican't be arsed and dd was v. nice about the whole thing.

Give it 40 years, come round to hers for Xmas dinner and pee on her couch.

NorbertDentressangle · 08/11/2008 18:00

This happened to me when I was 15 (dyed hair black, got dye on carpet, Mum went ape)

I've been reminded about it for the last 26 years, everytime hairdye/carpets/being a teenager is mentioned...believe me thats punishment enough!

mrsmike · 08/11/2008 20:07

I spilled a whole can of guinness on MILs cream carpet. In her cream themed house. Oh dear. Horror on large scale. Experts were consulted but carpet never was right. She put a chair over the spot. And moved house. And forever reminded me ...
