There it was this morning the clap of thunder the strike of lightning, dd1 turned 13 today so officially a teenager although she has been in training for the last few months. It makes me feel so old my baby girl a teen it dosent seem 5 mins ago that she was being born and off she went this morning all grown up, I must admit that I felt a little weepy and listned to abbas song slipping through my fingers, i am a sentlemental old fool.
I still have dd2 but she is 12 in two weeks the time seems to be flying by.

best of luck!!! My DD is 11 and is well and truly in training, tho she does have an older brother who seems to have taught her more about being a hormonal monster than I'd like It's a special birthday, tho I know what you mean about time flying by. Happy Birthday to your DD.

All of you, go out and buy this book, 'Get Out Of My Life' But First Take Me And Alex Into Town - A Parents Guide To Teenagers ...it is fantastic and may save a lot of heartache and confusion on your part. I wish I had read 3 years ago.

DS1 will be in teenager in January.
He seems to have grown up so much in the last few weeks.
at listening to 'Slipping Through My Fingers'.

Oh a lot of peeps have metioned this book think I might go and get it in my lunch break, This morning was just barmy the two dds fighting over a hair band it was like world war 3, they went out the door still arguing I was expecting London transport police to phone to say they had been chucked off the tube, I was so pleased to get to work this morning for a bit of peace.
The worst thing is that after they have stressed me out this morning they would probley have made up by the time they got to school.

So am I! He's 13 today, and I can't believe where the time, or my gorgeous little boy have gone. We are now into grunting; i-pod headphones permanently in ears; spots; and the occasional hug.

No girls yet, thank God.

So Much has changed in our home in the last few months dd1 is 13 and dd2 is 12 now and its just them and me at home and has been for a while, but its diffcult to adjust as they are not my little girls anymore (well they always will be to me) but young women and the hormans flying around is unbelivable, but I hope that we can get trough these teenage years with out too many scars and just a few brusies (mentally) we have moments of pure hell but there are moments still when they sit on my lap and have big cuddles and we can all laugh, I have had some good advice on here about picking my arguments which has helped alot.

DS was 13 at the begining of Sept. On good days its really funny he is like a little boy with hugs and then quick as a flash KERPOW he's a grunting shruging monster.

I have just finished Get out of my life etc, it sits on my bedside table, just looking at it reminds me to keep calm and not fight. ;-)
