Why does my 15yr old DS lose EVERYTHING???!!

My 15 yr old daughter is actually pretty good, but when my eldest son was that age he was hopeless. As to "why", I think it is a combination of failing to appreciate the importance/value of things plus assuming that grown ups will take responsibility when things go wrong (e.g. "Mum, have left sports bag on school bus (again), please go to bus station and fetch it for me before games at 2 o'clock!"). At 19 he is much better now that he has to buy the stuff himself! Do not despair!! Experience - long, disappointing and vexing, will do the trick in the end!
