following on from the 'age gap' thread, I started chatting to my 14yo DD..........in shock......

there is me, happily niave in thinking she has no interest in the 'other sex' (boys), and this thread comes up.

DD1 is still up, all others are n bed, we are bonding, so I ask....

does she have and friend who are boys??(she is in an all girls school, so I really do not know)....YES

has she been asked out???.......YES (mummy's mouth hits the floor)

where???.................SCOUTS (I kind of wondered....she has just started going with her 12yo sister)

omg my 14 year old baby is a boy i tell him .....stay away from girls they are bad news

I think I would rather my dd liked girls - I would know what I was dealing with then! Teenage boys are a closed book to me.

I kind of know teen boys.....my girls were the first girls on my side for a long long time, plus I nannied twin boys, so in some ways, I do 'get' them....

but

they do scare me, and I had hoped that having younger brothers would show her how horrid boys were unitl they hit their 20's....

teenage boys are not that different to ttennage girls you know. they have all the same fears.
(my ds is perfect you know)
