Can anyone suggest the best tampon for a young girl?

My dd is 12 and has started her period about 6 months ago. She feels hard done-by when she cant swim etc and finds it very embarrassing to talk to teachers etc. I am considering teaching her to use tampons for such occasions and for going on holiday so she can go into the sea. I remember how nervous I was when I started my periods (100 years ago) and wonder if anyone can recommend a brand or if there are any products around now especially for very young girls.

I've been using them since I was about 14! Get her the Tampax compacts! They're the easiest I reckon

I started periods at 10 and moved from pads to tampons at 12.

I used tampax and have done ever since.

Never had a problem with them, I know they say you can leave them 8 hours now but I never do because of TSS. I tend to change mine every few hours unless needed before and I use the light ones at the start, medium flow then heavy as I have endometriosis and need the heavier ones towards the middle-end then reduce back to the light flow ones when finishing.

I use a nighttime pad at night and use a warm flannel with some femfresh wash in the morning to freshen up as have no time for a shower in the morning so bathe at night instead. I also carry femfresh wipes with me in my bag for a freshen up during the day.

I used tampons from first period and to this day I hate towels. I use a cup now, so there is that option too if you think she would cope with it

I didn't see how old this was. Sorry
