Can anyone please help with ideas for a present for dd18th, I can’t decide between a Tiffany necklace or Pandora? I’m wondering if the Pandora stones may eventually come out so maybe a sterling silver necklace with no stones would be better? Or any other ideas ? Single mum and budget under £300. Thank you x

I actually let my daughter choose as I was in the same dilemma. I thought she would love Tiffany but no she wasn't keen. We looked in town at Pandora but she ended up choosing an ice blue stone silver one from H Samuel's. I know this spoils the surprise but I also wanted her to wear it.

There’s a seller on Etsy called JewelthiefBrighton he makes the most beautiful silver jewellery.I’ve got a couple of necklaces from him and the quality is excellent.

I prefer to buy second hand jewellery. Either antique or modern. You get so much more value for your budget. I'd take her shopping with a budget in mind to an antiques centre which offered both, or wait for a jewellery auction in your local auctioneers. Make the shopping day part of the gift with a meal or afternoon tea
