How many mums here see there is a need to stop this before it happens in their school and make everyone aware of all dangers that follow? See this as parent problem, not just social issue or school's issue to deal with it?

Today parents need to be more proactive in keeping their children safe. They need to keep up to date with what children are doing online and having relevant discussions with them. Parents need to make sure their children aren't using their electronics devices being used for inappropriate means by inspecting them, even if that child is 16
By the comments on here about children accession to porn on internet and being allowed to see it without parental control is sure a call for there a need to start a support group in getting other parents from neglecting their duties as parents for online safety for all by monitoring their children better.

Slightly better than your last idea, I suppose.

What would the support group actually do?
To answer your question, no, I would not start such a support group.

To stop teens doing something, you need to show them lots of pictures of what they shouldn't be doing.

Do you see a problem with that?
Hint: Teens like to be rebels, naughty & push boundaries.

I think there is a need for more awareness and open conversations between parents and children about online safety. Schools and parents both have a role, but monitoring alone may not be enough. Children also need to understand consent, privacy and the serious consequences of sharing explicit images.

I hope everyone understand that is what the support group has to offer more than one means in solving this problem. The support group talks to parents of all options that is available that can be used. This includes all the harm that would happen to children and the consequences. So, this would have the parents fully inform so they could be able engage their own children about harms of the internet.
The support group would engage further if parents would monitor their children and go over possible options. I am being honest here, is that current phones on market that are made for children and gives parents control, these features have been defeated by children, this fact is publish on the internet. So has these apps that suppose in keeping child safe been made useless by children. They know how to end these setting that supposed to keep them safe. Why companies don't offer phones with parental control that cannot be defeated by child unknown to me. Companies absolutely have that technology to make these phones better secure. Be warn if anyone buys a used phone make sure it is fully unlocked or you will find you are wasting your money, because a factory reset will never help in unlocking that phone. This is proof they have the technology.
Children have been expelled for making explicit pictures. This makes this child no longer in getting the education in school. Now parents have to deal with their child being expel and getting that child the needed education.

I actually would not have a problem with a 16 year old viewing porn Obviously not making porn themselves though

So all types of porn? You’d be fine with a child, whose brain is not fully developed, being able to view the full range of deviancy that is available?

I'm all in favour of parents talking to their teens about this, and making sure their phone/ internet access is age-appropriate (or at least doing their best to do so).

I'm unclear on what a support group would do. I'm not even clear if you mean a support group for parents (I could see the point of something for parents to share tips and advice perhaps) or for the teens (not sure I can envisage quite how this would work).
