How did your teens get on at Reading?

16yo DS has just got home. He was disgustingly muddy and hadn’t washed for four days. His tent flooded. Everything was wet and he was knackered. But he said he loved it and definitely wants to go again next year.
I had what I think was a normal amount of anxiety about him going. I was reading a Reading Facebook page last night that had people posting sbout tents being slashed and raided, one post about someone trying to set a tent on fire and another about someone being robbed at knifepoint. I’ve no idea if these were true or not but obviously hugely added to my anxiety!

i think next year I’ll plan to pick him and some if his friends up after the last act on Sunday to avoid the notorious Sunday night in the campsites. DS would be happy with that.

How did everyone else’s teens get on?

DD, 17, really enjoyed it for the most part. She was well prepared for the rain though and is used to camping! Her favourite acts were Kingfishr and Charlie XCX. Said the showers were fab, super hot and there was even a tent to get ready in where you could straighten your hair for free. Changed days since I was there in 1991 🤣.

all in all a positive experience and she didn’t see much trouble. Although she preferred Boardies as you could go to the beach and into Newquay.
