Hiya Anyone excited and nervous for their Young adults to go to Uni for the first time! My just turned 18yr old, had everything in place for weeks before results day. Now A level results are out, reality is kicking in. Anxious tears most nights, we’re going to the uni town for a few days- it’ll make or break her…. It’s heartbreaking ❤️‍🩹 seeing her knotted up like this. Anyone else in the same boat? X thanks

You know your own child and how to help her best. My advice is ‘less is more’. Don’t build it up into an enormous thing fretting about tea towels and whether she will be OK or not. Let her take the lead on what she wants to do. We made a plan that we would go to DD’s university town at October term with anything she needed and had forgotten and that seemed to help. Mind you, dd2 looked at us like we were mad when I said the same to her. 😆

I’ve had two that have successful gone now and honestly nothing was as bad as the thought of it. I was so worried, they were so worried - we were all on tenter hooks - now a couple of years later and looking back I’ve realised how much they’ve all thrived and so have I - the bit you are in now is the hardest and the first month - after that it gets much better !
