Is this vaping stuff?

If so, how should I approach it?

She's 15. A few months ago she admitted she "had tried" a cigarette and I said "thank you for telling me but you know the dangers and how addictive it is don't you?" and she said she'd only tried it but didn't want to do anything more. I didnt tell her off because I was hoping to keep communication open. However she has always sworn she hates vapes. I thought I smelt vape in the bathroom the other day.

We're having a few home issues and she isn't the most communicative of people anyway.
There are various other concerns I have with her behaviour and whether she is getting herself into things. No concerns at school which I guess is the big indicator.

If it isn't a vape, does anyone know what it is? I found it in her pockets when I was doing the washing.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. I did google the image before hand but it doesn't tell me anything. 🤣 I don't vape but remember seeing something like it on vapes.

It looks like it, the smallest part is the right shape to go in the end of a pod.

I would approach it by innocently asking what it is, give her a chance to come clean, rather than accusing her straight out. Good luck!

Thanks.
Bugger. I thought she had more sense even for a 15 year old.
I suspect she'll play innocent and say she doesn't know what they are.

Just downplay it is my advice. That way you keep channels of communication open and don’t have her hiding stuff from you

it’s not ideal and I was inwardly furious when I discovered my son - now 19 - vaping at the age of about 16/17. But realistically what can you do?

I just tell mine he’s a bit of an idiot and I make it clear I don’t in any way condone it and then I just leave it at that ( I appreciate he is not 15 though!)

the bigger the deal you make of this, the more enticing and thrilling you’ll make it for her. Go for head shaking, a bit of tutting and educational tidbits if you think she’s open to it

Yeah I know. And I know lots of people will shrug and say that's only vaping but as I say, I'm growing concerned about a few things. Just a gut feeling mainly.
