My daughter needs a dress for prom. We're in South London. Apparently the place to go to shop for one is Finsbury Park (?!) but if the shops there are bridal we're probably looking at spending some huge amount - that's not happening. Is the better way to hire a dress? If so, anyone have intel on where we can go to try them on in London? Could spend around £100 for hire, is that realistic?
Any insight would be amazing 🙏
I don't want to go and trail round somewhere endlessly and fruitlessly...!

Is she insistent on a new dress? Charity shops often have amazing dresses.

I got mine in TK Max many, many years ago for about £30. It saw me through school leavers ball and a couple of university balls.

Have you looked at Vinted? They have loads of prom dresses. You’ll probably struggle to get one from Red Carpet Ready for the price as they go for £150 plus. But there’s loads online.

My daughter got hers from Finsbury Park as did most if her friends. The dress was £180 and she looked gorgeous. We then made a few alterations (which cost £40) but tbh that was personal preference

It had a side slit on one of the legs and it seems almost all girls had similar style dresses.

I think you might as well buy as renting costs pretty much the same.
