i have a very shy and lovely just turned 17 year old, who really needs to grow in confidence struggling to find a saturday job, doing a levels but just needs to get out in the real world for a while (although he is studying for alevels) has a bunch of friends but no real bestie. i am wondering if some sort of camp for 2 weeks in the summer will help any ideas of what where

I think you have to be led by him about this. Ask him if he would like to go to a camp for a couple of weeks and look through some brochures with him; he may love the idea or hate it.

At 17 you can make suggestions but not force a youngster to do something against their will.

Your son will grow in confidence over the next couple of years, it just happens.

I do hope he finds a Saturday job but it must be something he's comfortable with.
