Tracker for car

Hello, I want to get a tracker to put on my son's car. I've looked online and lots seem to be good, but when I read reviews, they're actually not very good. Can anyone recommend a decent tracker that they've bought please? Preferably one that doesn't have monthly fees. Thank you.

We have a trutrak. You can buy it on amazon for about £30 and there are several options for subscriptions. Its very easy to fit yourself.

I'm interested in why you think you need to track your son's driving. If he's old enough to have passed his test and own his own car, then surely you can trust him a little?

Please don't do this. It's not fair to your son - you need to respect him. He's old enough to drive a car, so you have to trust him.
(And even if you had it, all it does is tell you where the car is - so what? It's pointless).
I think any parent who does this shouldn't be surprised if their adult child decides to put huge distance into the relationship.

Sorry, I assumed you would be doing it with his knowledge and consent. Don't do it without him knowing.

We get DS to share his live location on whatsapp, as he often travels at night and we live 40 mins or so away from his friends and quite rural so its more of a safety thing for him.

My son has been really struggling with his mental health recently. He went out for 48 hours with no contact, and I had no idea where he was. I reported him as a missing person. I found out he'd been having suicidal thoughts and am just so worried about him. I don't want to stop him from going out, incase that makes him worse, and he's days away from turning 18. Tbh, I really don't know what to do for the best
