Not just one single issue.
Just a general abiding aura attitude atmosphere
I don;t want to talk to her simply because,
I don;t trust her therefore,
I don't want her in the house
I just think I dont actually like her...
This feels as though it has gone on s so long and gradually I am giving up...I am exhausted with trying

Years of a metaphorical brick wall and she is still 13!

My friends are sick of hearing this so sorry but you are my sounding board.

It's so upsetting.

Breaks my heart she used to be lovely

sometimes dd (13) is only happy when shopping.

omg she's just come in & said "wot you talking about"

she'll be furious if she sees.....

NotAnOtter · 27/08/2008 22:20

my dd is only happy when giggling on msn or somesuch

as she cant do it at home - i see very little of her happy

scrub that actually she is a lot happier than i am right now

constantly getting me down seems to make her quite chirpy

I'm sorry to say this, but I feel so much better knowing I'm not alone in finding my teenager intolerably unpleasant. I feel like I need to tape my mouth shut just not to sink to his level. I often have to remove myself to another room to get my heart and breath under control. I know "Get Out of My Life" says not to take the kid's unpleasant statements personally, but it is so hard not to! I can't wait to dump him at boarding school after this summer of hell. Is this a cop out???? I fell so guilty about it in between my moments of elation.

congratulations on the birth of your son.

Just to let you know I'm still here with you.

Spent a week with DD1 in the South of France, just the two of us and it was lovely. Have been home a week and she's still being rather lovely. There's hope honey, there's hope!

NotAnOtter · 28/08/2008 20:51

thankyou mars i will try to remember that!

moski i sooo wish i had that cop out!

Moski · 28/08/2008 21:11

I have to work like a dog to pay for it, but it beats the stress of having the unpleasant child around all the time . . .

NotAnOtter · 28/08/2008 21:57

could work well for both of you though i guess!

Moski · 28/08/2008 22:02

So far, so good except for the 24,000K per year that could buy me a new car!

NotAnOtter · 28/08/2008 22:07

phewww must be a good one!

Moski · 28/08/2008 22:10

I should have said 24K (US dollars)! Kind of cheap for here actually. Yet more reason for guilt, sending my kid to a cheap boarding school . . .

NotAnOtter · 28/08/2008 22:11

thats what parenting is about - guilt!

Moski · 28/08/2008 22:21

Thanks for that! I feel so much better driving a 10 year old car . . .
