Camp America roles

Hi there,

my daughter is very keen to do Camp America and was wanting a general counsellor role. She hasn’t found any but has been offered a specific role on the high ropes. It’s a bit like Go Ape. She’s keen but the guy explained to her it’s six hours a day five days a week. I think a lot of this would be up in the actual trees. She’s wondering if this would be too much as the guy interviewing her pointed this out carefully. Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated. Thank you.

I did camp America years ago. I got offered general counsellor or high ropes and took general counsellor. I don't think high ropes would be all in the trees, they'll spend a lot of their time explaining to the children what to do, getting them into harnesses, supervising from below and moving about the equipment :)

Hi my daughter did camp counsellor last year and absolutely loved it.
She got the role by going to recruitment open day in London and I am sure that is coming up soon in London again. Might be worth thinking about attending as there will be lots of camp choices there.

Good luck.

I did it YEARS ago and i went to the recruitment event in London. I completely changed my mind on what I wanted to do and signed on for a special needs camp and it was the BEST thing I ever did!
Going to the event is definitely a good idea!
