I have to say I am shocked at this It never occurred to me that they didn't know that she was writing about them. It seems like such a huge betrayal of trust.

It was absolutely compelling reading bit thought she was a doormat as well. felt sorry for her at times too. And I liked the way that whenever her teenagers were being hideous, she'd always remember them as adorable toddlers and wonder what the hell happened...

I could NEVER have got away with ever telling my parents to f off let alone doing it on a regular basis. My children will never get away with it either...she did seem very soft as a mum, constantly needing her kids approval.

I liked it to remind me that my teenage DS is actually an angel (!) I would be absolutely mortified if anyone realised who I was on here and told DS what I had written about him on various threads, but that's pretty unlikely. I can't understand how someone writing for a national newspaper ever thought she could hide their identities. We all need to rant about our DCs every now and then. Thankfully I write on MN and not in the Guardian!
