Brick app with teens

Hi - I am having a constant battle with 17 year old DS about phone usage. It's driving me crazy. He spends literally hours scrolling. Has anyone had any success with anything? I have been sent a link to the Brick app - has anyone used this?

I am trying to parent, really I am, but am finding it increasingly difficult. He is generally doing fine at school by all accounts, but how that is true when he does nothing at the weekends I don't know. I mean, not nothing - he does work all day Saturday at a Saturday job but you take my point!

I use Brick myself, I brick my phone at night so stop the distraction when I go to sleep. I'm not sure how you'd enforce it on someone else though, does your son have an issue with his own phone use or is it just you that has the issue with it?

Jesus Christ he is 17 and doing fine at school AND has a weekend job and you want to control his phone usage?

unclench OP.

Is he going to uni this autumn? In which case it’s pointless to do this just for the 5 months until exams are over.
