I really want to go away but can’t afford anywhere warm or the skiing holiday they we’d all love!
Im now looking at Naples. We have two teens (14 and 16). Plan would be lots of mooching, Pompeii, catacombs, and eating lots of pizza.
i know we’d need to wrap up warm but that would be the same wherever we go.
Has anyone else been at this time of year an / or with teens and could advise?

(have also posted on the “holiday” board)

Bump. Not been but would LOVE this trip! Not sure it'll be cold?
I don't know anyone who hasn't enjoyed pompei and transport links are meant to be great.

I've been to Naples and the surrounds during February half term. The weather was lovely - about 16C. And Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius etc weren't at all crowded. It was lovely.

Take the teens to Pompeii first because it is so much bigger. Thus when you arrive at Herculaneum, it will seem completely managable.

If you have not been before, be aware that Pompeii is vast. It is just over 1K on its long axis but Herculaneum is a fraction of that size.

Transport in the area (circumvesuvio) is well linked up but the train can be unpredictable: it comes when it comes.

We did this trip but we threw in the fast train to Rome (it took I think an hour and a half or something) so we did all the main sites in Rome for the day too. We all LOVED it!
