Any advice for GCSE resit fail

Hi all my one DS has resat his English as he failed in June. I have paid for loads of tuition and extra lessons. She said he had improved a lot and was sure he would pass. I had to pay privately as the college he goes to don’t do Nov resits. He has failed it again 😩 same grade a 3, still don’t know actual paper marks.
not sure at this point if it’s the tutor, my son or his lack of focus. He is upset but I get the impression both times now he thought he was going to scrape it. It’s all so disheartening. Third time lucky June 🤞anyone kids passed third time or any advice 👏🙏

Do you get the exam papers back?
If you do then a tutor needs to go through it with him I find out exactly where he went wrong.
If he doesn't know why - he needs to know.

@Needmorelego yes I will request back I have emailed to ask. we did this last time she went through where he went wrong last time part of it not completing a very high mark question barely any of it . So she has gone through all that and still same grade 🤦‍♀️

DN has just managed to pass on her fifth attempt, so there is hope.

Teacher here - loads of kids fail in November and then pass in June. They just need the extra learning time.

Is it AQA? If so sounds like he’s not writing enough for Q4 and/or Q5. Tell him to answer the paper backwards in June so he doesn’t run out of steam on the big mark questions.

@GRCP correct ! And yes this was the advice she gave him last time he wrote hardly anything. This time he wrote nearly three pages. 🤦‍♀️back to the front. I do need yo see how far off he was 👏
