Teenage boys and negging/flirt methods - do they do this?

So my daughter keeps getting the same spiel from teen boys she encounters - they tell her previous girlfriends ‘just dumped them for no reason’, ghosted them, or just stopped being friends with them. Then there’s also quite often negging - undermining confidence via insults (just ‘banter’) mixed with compliments, to manipulate.

My question - is this common among boy teens or is she just really unlucky in who she encounters? (I should add that within ONE of her social spheres, based around a shared nature/wildlife interest, this is not the case, but in other areas, college, local boys etc it keeps cropping up.)

Wondering whether it’s a trend or common thing or just bad luck!
