My DD is desperate to go next year, she will be literally just 16. She wants to go for the day onlu with a group of friends. Does anyone have any experience of their child going to Reading and whether you’d allow a just 16 girl going? Thanks

Absolutely. Ds2 went in a group, for the day, had such a good time that they are all going for the day this year aswell. Many of my friends DD's went in small groups of friends and also had the best time. I'd encourage any parent to let their dd go.

My DS is going for the weekend with a group of friends, mix of boys and girls. Quite a few have siblings that went last year and had a great time.

I was a bit apprehensive at first but figured they can get up to all sorts wherever they are 🤷‍♀️

My daughter was just 16. I booked her in the pink moon campsite. I would have much rather she’d just gone for the day but she was fine and going again next year.

My DD went with a group of friends , she was 16 at the time.
We live near enough that they could be collected at the end of each day. Theres a lot of hype over it amongst the friends . She saw 2 days of it but 1 day would have probably been enough.

Yes if they are broadly sensible and going in a group should be fine.

My daughter was just 16 and stayed wed-sun. She was fine though we did collect her stuff on Sunday morning and she hit the train home Sunday night. She was sensible and I’ve just shelled out for next year…

DD16 went for 2 days after her GCSE’s this year (not camping), she had the time of her life. I picked her up after, all good, no drama (for her, traffic nightmare for me!) She wants to camp next year- I think it’s fine. When I was her age I hitchiked to Glastonbury and bribed a security guard to sneak me in, I’m not sure I even told my parents!

My older one went when she was 16 for the day. My younger one wants to camp at 16 but there is absolutely no way I would let her. 2025 saw 5x Rape, 14 sexual assaults and 37 poisoning (drugging) are rife. It is all 16 yo girls, and predators. Not a chance. Read the police reports and freedom of information requests to Thames valley police. Time to say 'no'
