DS sending abbreviations to friends and I can’t find what they mean

Recently, my DS (15) has been talking a lot in an online group chat filled with people that he knows in real life, but 2 or 3 people that he doesn't. I decided to look at this chat, just to make sure he is being safe, and noticed something odd. There is a lot of mentions of this specific abbreviation: 21CB. No matter how much I look on the Internet, I can't seem to find a straight answer. Another phrase that was frequently used was "Couch curry" which I don't understand, either.

I've asked him about it and he just seems to avoid the question. Is this code for drugs or something sinister? Please help!

What context are they using it in?

LadySable · 12/11/2025 17:27

useless without context

Kittykat2014 · 12/11/2025 17:29

My two teens have absolutely no idea what these mean I so would say it's something they've made up!

CareerCoachingAdvice · 12/11/2025 17:40

Is the chat related to a game they are playing?

BrightSpark10 · 12/11/2025 17:42

Need more context not just random words, with a full sentence this may make more sense

he just seems to avoid the question

How does that work? Insist he tells you!

333FionaG · 12/11/2025 17:45

Why don't you ask him?

ilovemybabies124 · 12/11/2025 17:46

I just had a skim, so didn't really get a proper look at all of the sentences, but I believe it was things like "can't wait for next 21cb" and "that's so couch curry"

I checked tiktok and 21cb is a green day album

maudelovesharold · 12/11/2025 17:59

The only reference I can find to 21CB is the Greenday album 21st Century Breakdown!

Curry is an Indian guy. Couch is something good. 21CB, probably cocaine related.

Peanutssuck · 12/11/2025 18:07

2IC is also military for Second in Command but I don't think that's what they mean 🤣🤣🤣🤣

waterrat · 12/11/2025 18:36

2cb is a drug. A bit like speed or ecstacy.

Theextraordinaryisintheordinary · 12/11/2025 18:38

My teenagers said don’t worry. It’s nothing.

stichguru · 12/11/2025 18:44

21CB - 21st Century Breakdown: It is a common abbreviation used by fans to refer to the 2009 album by the American rock band Green Day.

RescueMeFromThisSilliness · 12/11/2025 18:51

Explain that either he tells you what those abbreviations mean, or you stop paying for his phone contract. And the broadband. And Sky/Netflix/whatever.

clubsspadesdiamondshearts · 12/11/2025 19:13

2CB is a drug (it’s a bit like a mix of MDMA & Acid) but 21CB could be related or not related!
