DS is 17. On a shared iPad I could see that he has signed up for various chat rooms with girls - you know the type.

I’ve warned him before about the dangers of catfishing.

He's never had a girlfriend or I suspect even kissed a girl.

I don’t think he’s interacted with the sites so maybe it’s just curiosity.

Should I say anything to him or mind my own business?

Anyone??

That could be bad news if the chat gets intimate with pics and more and blackmailed to send to all contacts.
And it's some bloke in Nigeria or the Philippines.
Sextortion has caused young people to take their own lives.

Yes I’ve warned him extensively about that. And I think he got the message.

That's good, it's a bloody minefield for teens now.
Glad my teen years were in simpler times.

I think it has. I’ll try and have a chat with him again over the weekend. I’m a mix between worried and sad for him. He’s a late developer and maybe feels like he’s never going to find a girlfriend.

He will it will all click into place 👍.
He has to see girls as people and not something unattainable.
I was a teen boy once upon a time admittedly a long time ago.

That’s why I’m worried. I’ve tried to tell him that these type of sites are not girls who are actually interested in him it’s about making money.

I take it's all fakery with heavily altered pics, he'd be better being friends with girls first perhaps and not come across as desperate to bag a girlfriend so to speak.
