Tooth - root canal or take out?

My daughter 17yo had a big filling done in her tooth yesterday, lower left 6.
She is in so much pain 24 later. I dont know what to do. Painkillers work so she is sleeping. But whats the next step?
She has trauma from dentists...would she be better of having tooth removed?
I am so confused and so sad...
I tried so much to keep her teeth healthy.
But genetics plus addiction to sweets, vapes...I lost.

Only speaking for myself here but I’ve had two root canals and they weren’t the drama people made them out to be! Once a tooth is out and it’s not a baby tooth then you’re into false teeth. Personally I’d try and save the tooth (haven’t had any issues with them since and is a few years ago but it is a gamble, my mum had one that had to be taken out just weeks later)

Root canal is not worse than a filling. They give good pain killers. Can’t feel a thing.

I had a bad experience with a root canal, and I ended up having to remove the tooth because the pain was so intense and unbearable.
Do you go to an NHS dentist? I was told by a dentist at Bupa that there's no guarantee a root canal treatment will be 100% successful, as they are not specialists.
Apparently, if you can afford private treatment, there are specialists in London.

I can tell you that every single root canal I have had ultimately failed. One tooth cost me thousands, I had the course of root canal which was incredibly painful, then had a crown. About 4 months after it was all finished I developed an abscess at the very bottom of the root and had to had the tooth extracted. Because there was very little tooth to grip onto they had to cut along the side of my gum to get the tooth out. I looked like I’d gone 10 rounds with Rocky. So a lot of pain, a lot of money and had to have it pulled anyway. My advice, pull the tooth and save for an implant.

Redo the root canal with sedation and an endodontist. If you extract the tooth, it should have an implant placed immediately for the best outcome. If her wisdoms were going to need removal in future, then removing a 6 may allow for the 7 to move forward and the wisdom to take its place.

It is for someone with trauma or a phobia, it's got little to do with pain.
