Does anyone use Google’s Family Link app to keep track of their teens location?

Love this app and its screen time features for keeping an eye on my teens phone usage.

But I’ve noticed the location sharing has suddenly stopped working. It used to be so reliable, I could quickly check where my teen was, but now it only seems to update if they’re connected to WiFi. Another parent I know is having the same issue…

Has anyone else noticed this problem with the Family Link app?

Its very temperamental. I think it only shares the location of my teenager last time they were using an app that has location permission active. it usually shows a location that is several hours out of date. If it's stopped working having previously been ok : does this date back to a birthday of your teen? I think it's in the smallprint that Google will grant the right to older teens that they can switch off some features when they reach the age the Google reckon is old enough.

We use ‘Find My’ on the iPhone. It works pretty well.

I have run into the same thing with Family Link, the location isn’t always accurate. As a mom, I ended up adding Xnspy app, just as a backup when I really need to know where my teen is.

No. Tracking teenagers is overbearing and counterproductive.
