Irregular Periods

My 13 year old had her first period in May and then has had nothing since. I know that the first few years of periods can be irregular but it seems quite a long time to not have one. She is quite slim, so I wasn’t actually expecting her to start as early as she has. Is it worth speaking to the GP?

I wouldn’t bother. I’d wait and see if she has another before May next year.
What is her BMI? Do you think she might have PCOS?

Is she pregnant.
if no then wait and see.

but don’t instant toy write it off as “ not possible no way “ cos it can and does happen. Deep breath and ask gently and calmly.

My DD2 is nearly 16, started her period just before her 14th birthday. She goes MONTHS in between, sometimes six or seven. I was the same at that age. I assume it'll settle down as she gets older.

I asked her that and she looked at me horrified and said ‘I’m 13’! We’ve got a GP appointment in a couple of weeks for a separate issue as she’s been struggling with her skin, so I may mention it to the doctor!
