One of mine is starting tomorrow so has decided to take a bento box. Rice, chicken, fruit and popcorn. The other seems to eat chocolate and crisps.

VivaForever81 · 02/09/2025 21:02

tuna pasta sweetcorn or sausage rolls and crisps.

Myjobisridiculous · 02/09/2025 21:02

Nothing!!
if I do a box it comes back untouched

whateveryousay · 02/09/2025 21:04

I would have no idea. They can make it their self at college age surely?

Basketjumperrednosix · 02/09/2025 21:08

Today was roasted vegetable cous cous with chopped left over chicken and carrot sticks.
Dd has a rotation of 4 different meals that she makes so no thinkingand I know whats needed when shopping -tomorrow is red pepper pasta salad and an apple. Thursday will be chicken, lettuce and sweetcorn wrap with mayonnaise and Friday will be bread roll with some meat and salad and crisps with a piece of fruit.

Depends who makes it!
Me: sandwich, cheese (babybel sort of nonsense), crisps apple, cereal bar (or homemade flapjack).

If DS makes it, the crisps and sandwich dissappear, and he'll make some noodles with protein and veg in a flask. But I won't play that game at 6.30 in the morning!

Ds takes ham & chicken rolls, crisps and a piece of fruit. And then buys himself either a Sainsbury’s or Greg’s meal deal, or McDonald’s meal. He’s very tall, very skinny, and is out of the house for 11 hrs, so I do give him the cash to buy his 2nd lunch.

Whatever they find in the fridge

Compartments of different stuff, chicken, crackers, olives, potato salad. They make it up themselves from whatever is in the fridge.

DiscoBeat · 19/09/2025 00:08

So far this week I've made for DS17:

  1. Couscous with chopped vegetables and tuna and avocado, boiled egg and spicy dressing
2.Chicken pasta salad with peas, parmesan and Caesar dressing
  1. Leftover chicken shawarma with Couscous and lettuce and pickled red onion and guerkins
  2. Egg fried rice with Cajun chicken and avocado

I always keep little bits of eg salad so they can be added.

Mine takes chicken and rice with cucumber and sweetcorn in a bento box with some crackers or something as a snack. Grapes normally find their way in too.

Mine used to either make up wraps/sandwiches or make soup/pasta and take it in one of those wide-necked flasks using whatever she could find in the fridge. Or leftovers if we had eg chilli. Sainsburys meal deal occasionally but she had to pay for those and stuff from home was free.
