First shave

When should boys start shaving? My son is 12 and looks like he should start, but how? I feel out of my depth with this as I don't even shave my legs that much!

when they ask and want to I would guess.

I have only teen girls ATM, but they started shaving their legs at 10yo, their choices too!!

well.....more down to the fact that they do ballet, and the other girls all shaved, so they felt they needed to too.....I wasn't so keen, but just figured that they would anyway so wanted to help them and ensure they knew how to weild a razor safely.....so I showed them how the first few times.

not sure how to approach it as and when the boys start needing to tho, so will leave it to DH when the time comes.

I hate that 'bum fluff' on their top lip, so mine both started at about 12/13. Depends how dark their hair is.

DS1 used a normal razor and shaving foam, his dad showed him what to do. We didn't trust DS2 with this method as he is a bit clumsy! So bought him an electric razor. To begin with they don't need to shave more than once a week.

My ds1 had to shave when he was 10 or 10.5. We only let him have an electric razor to begin with but started wet shaving by 12 or 13 iirc.
he looks like a minger when he doesn't shave every day. Yuck!!

ahh my ds(14) has that bumfluff going on

My DS(14) had his first shave last night to get the bumfluff off his top lip. He looks Soooooo much better!

DS1 is 13, nearly 14, and is not showing any signs of needing to shave yet.

He is blonde, though, so maybe having light hair helps.

DS2 is darker, so may need to start earlier.

I shall be interested to see when the time comes!

Ds is 16 and no shave in sight, just slight rough facial skin at the moment!

Aw I've just realised it's not blackcurrant squash on his top lip it's fluff.
