Booking a practical driving test after a fail

Hello,
DD failed her first driving test today. Can anyone advise us on the best route to book a 2nd test quite quickly. The first test was via the government website and using "test holding" which was perfect because it gave her enough time to get more lessons and practice in. However she now wants to book another test idealy before starting uni in September. I've heard about the Testi app but have read some bad reviews of it and I don't really want to pay extra for something that isn't helpful.
Any advice would be great thanks.

We found the Testi app to be brilliant. The main thing is to book a test anywhere and then use Testi to rebook looking only for your test centre. You have to be alert to it the whole time, as soon as you get a Testi notification you scramble to book the slot! And you can keep rebooking as they come up with earlier dates.

Would also recommend Testi. We booked a test for DS for Oct and maned to change it to his preferred test centre and date in July within a week or so. They often get very close dates becoming available (the next day or two). The app takes you straight to the dvsa site to book. It was £12 I think, but well worth it.

So we are set up on Testi. Do you have any good tips to pass on when using the app. I can't believe how stressful it all is booking a 2nd test. Its incredibly frustrating and disheartening and not to mention expensive!

You need to have notifications set up for immediate and have your phone to hand
at all times so you’re ready to pounce.

Have the driving licence number ready in a phone note to copy and paste if needed though I think it might auto populate details (cannot remember exactly sorry).

Set up the app so it only shows you slots from the test centre(s) that you want. You have to be fast basically, if it notifies you, you go straight into it and see whats on offer and book. If you wait it will have gone.

good luck!

My daughter failed her first test mid May. Got up early on the following Monday, booked the first test she could which was December. She used the TestShift app premium version and passed last week after a very last minute cancellation came up. You do have to be on the ball with the notifications though!
